Why madrasi?
That's the name the good and all-knowing people from the rest of India call somebody from the southern part of the country. You could hail from Venkatanarasimharajuvaripeta but you are still a madrasi. Once a term of flagrant mockery, it  passes off today as an endearment by a relative trying hard to come across as indulgent. Read on for some eloquent observations on this practice.
